Who We Are

"For such a Time As This" — by His Word, through prayer, intercession and worship we purpose in our hearts to receive the Sound of His Voice, preparing us to become His inconquerable Army of the Lord.

Joyful Sound Church is located in Porter, Texas. We are a Spirit-filled, Bible-believing congregation committed to raising up believers who carry the presence and power of God into every sphere of life.

We are more than a Sunday service — we are a family on a mission, equipping every believer to be a supernatural minister of the Gospel of power.

Pastor Betsy Steele is a co-founder and pastor of Joyful Sound Church in Porter, Texas, along with her sister Jeanne Pritchard — a ministry established in 1993 with a vision to worship God and serve the community.

Her ministry focuses on prayer, worship, and teaching the Joy of the Lord and the Hebraic foundations of the Christian faith, including the significance of God's Biblical calendar and the appointed times found in Scripture. She carries a deep respect for the power of the prophetic Word of God and believes that the Lord continues to guide, encourage, and strengthen His people through the truth and revelation of His Word.

Pastor Steele has traveled throughout the United States and internationally ministering in worship and prayer, including visits to Israel, Australia, Canada, Greece, and other nations. She carries a deep love for Israel and has partnered with ministries there to provide encouragement, prayer, and support — including during the difficult days following the October 7 attacks.

After the tragic loss of her only son, Garrison Steele, in a car crash, she turned personal grief into a mission of service by helping establish the "Carry the Light Conference" and co-founding G&P Community Driving School — equipping teenagers with the skills and wisdom to make safe choices behind the wheel while reaching families who might never step inside a church.

She has also participated in international prayer initiatives connected with the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast, Voice of Many Waters (Israel), and The Church of the Living God (Brazil) — joining believers from around the world in prayer for peace and spiritual unity among the nations.

Pastor Jeanne Pritchard is a co-founder and pastor of Joyful Sound Church in Porter, Texas, along with her sister Betsy Steele — a ministry established in 1993 with a deep desire to worship God and serve the community. For more than three decades, she has faithfully led others in prayer, worship, and biblical teaching, encouraging believers to grow in their relationship with God and live lives devoted to faith, service, and compassion.

Pastor Jeanne carries a deep love for worship expressed through music, banners, and prophetic dancing before the Lord. She believes worship is a powerful way to glorify God and lead others into His presence. She also has a deep reverence for the power of the prophetic Word of God and believes that God still speaks through His Word to bring encouragement, direction, and hope to His people.

As a devoted prayer leader, Pastor Jeanne believes in the power of intercession and the prophetic Word to transform lives, families, and communities. Her heart for prayer and worship has played a significant role in the ministry of Joyful Sound Church.

She is also a co-founder of G&P Community Driving School, a ministry outreach that equips young drivers with the skills and wisdom needed to make safe decisions on the road while reaching families throughout the community. She has partnered with Voice of Many Waters (Israel) and The Church of the Living God (Brazil) in international prayer for peace and spiritual unity among the nations.

Through her faith, leadership, and servant's heart, Pastor Jeanne continues to inspire others to seek God through prayer, worship, and joyful expression before the Lord while faithfully serving her church and community.
